We both met in the office. He (26) saw me at an event and found me pretty, after which he started talking to me. I (24) found him cute at that time, and I also started talking to him. He followed me on Instagram in May, and the first conversation he had was informing me that he was on a notice period and moving to another company in NCR. We started talking in the office too our vibes matched, and we had a lovely time. We didn’t get very close, as I mentioned that I didn’t want physical intimacy too early, and he was fine with that as well.
One day, he informed me that he had received a job offer outside India, and if all went well, he would take up the offer from September onwards. Two months passed, and he left the firm. We did meet quite a few times during office hours and outside the office too. After observing things when meeting in person, I realized that we are very different from each other. Due to our different castes, our upbringing, way of speaking, and style all differ a lot. But I kept all that aside and focused on the feelings I had developed.
He had mentioned in the beginning not to get emotionally attached, as it was his first time going abroad, that too for a senior position. He said he didn’t know if he’d be able to fulfill any promise if he made one, and he didn’t want to hurt either of us so no commitment as such. However, when I met him recently (almost two months later), he said that we are definitely more than friends, and it’s a relationship for him. Lately, I feel like I’m also drifting away from him, as I don’t find him attractive anymore and somewhere believe that we might not be a good match especially considering our families.
Also, he himself isn’t clear and keeps changing his statements. But I did find him really emotional, and lately, in these two months, he has started putting in more effort sharing his feelings, his daily activities, and doing things couples usually do. So, should I just keep moving forward with him to see what happens in the future, or should I stop since I don’t feel that inclined towards him anymore? Also, how should I stop, as I feel bad that he might get hurt? Please guide me, as this is happening to me for the first time.
