I Met a Guy on Dating App who doesn’t have own house

Hello everyone, I am a 28 years old female. I am in a relationship since past 6.5 years. We met on a dating app back in 2020. I had a breakup recently and was just looking for something casual then I met him.. We were connected mostly by calls and messages because of COVID we could not meet being in different cities so we met after a year and it went well so we decided to continue to take it further to marriage.

I am in medical profession and had my final year exams and just few days before my exams after 4 years of dating he told me that he didn’t had a house of his own, which was a big deal for me as I belong to a upper middle class and to marry and convince parents it was necessary for him to have a house of his own atleast and a stable job as my parents own two houses. So it is a big deal for them to have a financially stable man for their daughter I decided to end the relationship.

Because of the betrayal l got, I thought of him as a fraud as it was not easy for me to accept this after 4 years of relationship but still he convinced me that he will get a house within one year and I should give him a chance atleast and I agreed.. Then I completed my graduation and was back to my hometown and told my parents about him at first they were not able to accept it but after seeing me being so sure about him they agreed to talk to him but said that they will let me marry him only if he gets his house first I agreed.

It has been more than 2 years he is still searching for a home and is not getting a home. Now after giving him too much time I am now pissed off and we both fight a lot. Now being exhausted from all this I finally made a profile on matrimony site and am looking for something meaningful. I don’t know if I am right or wrong but deep down I think I have given him enough time. Can anyone please explain if I am right or wrong?

If only he would have told me the truth before I would have cleared my future plans as to what is possible and what not. As being from a well settled family myself I cannot live in a rented house lacking all the basic needs that I have always seen in my home. I guess being practical is the only choice I have.
