I Lost my Female Bestie

I met a girl during work, and over time we became really close. It started as casual conversations slowly turned into something much deeper. We became each other’s comfort person. We’d wait for each other’s work, call each other when life got hard, and somewhere along the way, she became one of the most important people in my life. The complicated part was that she already had a boyfriend. I knew that from the beginning, but despite that, our bond kept growing. Eventually, we crossed a line we probably never should have.

We kissed, and after that, every time we met, it felt like we were a couple. We celebrated birthdays together, travelled together, visited each other, and created memories that meant everything to me. She used to tell me how much I meant to her, used to compare me with her dad and she made me believe that maybe one day we’d actually have a future also how her feelings for her boyfriend weren’t the same anymore.

And she told that she’s going breakup with him and when they both met, things went in a different way they had a deep conversation and got back in relationship. And she said I love him again and the moment that changed everything was his birthday. I told her that if she truly wanted me in her life, she shouldn’t go. Instead, she said, “He’s done a lot for me. I owe him.” At that moment, I realised that despite everything we’d shared, when it came to making a choice, she already had.

Later, she told me she was scared, didn’t want to hurt anyone, and didn’t want to keep my hopes up. So she ended things with me. After sometime, her relationship with her boyfriend ended too. Recently, I found out she’s been talking to another guy. She says it’s “just time pass,” and that flirting doesn’t count because she’s not serious about him and she didn’t do anything wrong.
