Hi guys, I am 33 years old. I work for a client in California, but I moved to Dallas back in 2020 during the Covid time because of work from home. I bought a house there, and at the end of 2021 I had an arranged marriage. After about a year, my wife filed for divorce in India. We separated and finally divorced in 2023. After our separation, she got married again to another guy, who also lives in Dallas.
I am not sure whether they already knew each other while we were in Dallas or if it was really an arranged marriage. After I came to know this, I couldn’t show my face to my friends in Dallas, so I moved to California and started living an individual life. One random day, through some office colleagues, I came to know about meetups happening for divorced people.
These are not just for Telugu people, they were originally started by Americans, and luckily I found some Indians also attending. Usually, these meetups are just for people to interact, meet new friends, share their experiences and spend some time together. I started going to these meetups whenever I had time. Initially, I couldn’t talk much because of nervousness. Luckily, I met some Telugu people there, including two girls.
Slowly, I started talking to one of the girls and we began sharing our experiences. She told me she got divorced because her husband had affairs with his ex, who was already married. I told her that my wife had filed a divorce case on me citing domestic violence, and that’s how our marriage ended. I know she didn’t fully believe it, because she has been travelling with me for the last two months and has observed my behaviour.
We became very close within two months and started meeting every week., we got physical sometimes and began enjoying each other’s company. Now, for the last one month, she has been asking me to marry her and start a new life. That’s where my real problem started. Actually, my previous marriage broke mainly because my wife was never happy with our physical relationship.
We used to fight almost every night because of it. Many times she complains that mine is too small and not lasting long in bed. There are many things about my stamina and body which I couldn’t share openly, but ultimately she filed a domestic violence case in India to get the divorce. In fact, that is the main reason I moved away from Dallas. Because of that nervousness, it took me a long time to open up and meet new people again.
Now my fear is, what if this new girl only likes me now because she didn’t have any physical relationship after her divorce? What if, after marriage, she also starts complaining about my stamina like my ex-wife did? What if she also files for divorce? Can I say no to marriage and just continue this relationship the way it is?
