Once, there was a girl who had faced loss and betrayal early in life. Losing her mother at a young age and experiencing the pain of broken relationships and friendships, she grew strong yet wounded. After years of healing from her first love’s betrayal, she unexpectedly met a man who seemed to bring light into her life. They fell deeply in love, and for a while, everything seemed perfect.
Their happiness, however, faced challenges due to their mismatched work schedules. She craved his time and attention, while he was often preoccupied. Despite this, she adjusted to his lifestyle, showering him with love and doing everything to make him happy. But then came the day he needed her help. She tried her best, though her efforts weren’t perfect. From that moment, something changed in him.
He began acting distant, questioning her honesty when she told him she hadn’t sought help from others a truth she stood by. She understood his traumas and hardships, having grown up motherless herself. She was never the kind of person to place restrictions, and he never crossed any limits, but the distance between them grew.
His focus shifted to his studies and career, which she respected, but it came at the cost of their relationship. One day, after giving him a surprise gift, he dismissed it in front of his mother, claiming it was from a friend. She felt the sting of his lie. As the days passed, his behavior became more elusive.
He was absorbed in helping a senior colleague with personal issues, and though she trusted him, her gut told her something was wrong. Still, she ignored her instincts, believing in his loyalty. Then the worst happened. He told his mother about their relationship, and she opposed it because of caste differences. Rather than standing by her, he chose to end things, saying, “My mum said no.”
Her heart shattered. She had seen something in him, a warmth that reminded her of her mother, a connection she couldn’t easily let go of. Yet, in their last conversation, he told her they were no longer together. Now, she finds herself struggling to move on.
Though their time together was brief, the pain feels immense. She listens to his voice messages, texts him, but receives little in return. She doesn’t know how to proceed, stuck between the love she once felt and the silence he now offers.
Question: Should I meet him and clear it up?
1. Get closure
2. Just wait for him to take a stand
