I want to tell you precisely that… Please believe your intuition. Because if your gut is telling you it’s wrong, it means it’s wrong. So, my first relationship started after my 10th boards, and it was a long-distance relationship. But we broke up because of a lack of communication. Then I moved to another city for my higher studies. There, I felt lonely, and I thought, “Here, I can talk with him freely.” I contacted him.
And in my eyes, he was so good, and I trusted him completely. Everything was going good. I was loyal to him. I don’t know whether he was loyal to me. I completely trusted him. But then we met for the first time. Then this lockdown came, and he only wanted to talk badly, and I didn’t like it. I got angry, but he didn’t come and apologize. Instead, I went to him and talked to him because I was alone and so emotionally dependent on him.
This means that I had accepted what he was doing because I wanted him. And that was the worst decision of my life. Because when we give a second chance, and if nothing changes, we are accepting their behavior. And whenever we met, he only wanted to get physical and didn’t want to get out. And he pretended like he didn’t have money (P.S. later on, he bought an iPhone, pretending to be gareeb?). I felt suffocated with him.
Then there was a friend I met during my exams. I talked to him, and I felt so good because he let me laugh, and he knew everything about my boyfriend. I didn’t like him at that time. But when I broke up with my boyfriend, I had feelings for my friend and thought that he would make me laugh. But it led to another tragedy. I proposed to him, and within 10 days of the relationship, he gave me a ring. Before the year ended in December 2023, I thought nobody had ever been this serious with me. I accepted it.
He turned out to be my biggest nightmare. Before the relationship, he used to talk with me daily. After that, he pretended like he was so busy. As we both were pursuing the same career, we went for a training. And he was so good there. And he told me to get physical. I told him I wasn’t ready because of my past, and he was telling me, “Kar lete hai na…” Like, literally begging. I still remember him saying that.
And I did because I trusted him. I was a fool. This was the signal that I ignored, and I fell into his trap. He kept continuing that at the training and treating me so well, like a husband. Once, I got severely ill, and he took care of me very nicely. But his intentions were not pure. He didn’t love me. He just knew that I was emotional and took advantage of it. And he was also jealous of my success.
So, overall, my lesson is that I don’t want to be emotionally dependent on anyone. And no means no. If my gut is saying no, it means I won’t continue it. Ladies, please believe in yourself and keep growing.
